Fees, Features, & FurnishingsThere’s a point just outside Sacramento where the landscape shifts—more trees, more space, a little more breathing room—and then you arrive at The Maples in Woodland, a private garden estate anchored by a low, white ranch-style house with a tiled roof and a canopy of mature trees that immediately sets the tone. It’s an outdoor-forward property, but not in a fragile, “hope the weather cooperates” kind of way—this is shade, structure, and a strong sense of place working in your favor from the start. Ceremony lands beneath those sprawling branches, where filtered light moves across the aisle and guests settle in without squinting into the sun (a small detail, a big win). The setting reads intimate even as guest counts stretch into the 150 range, which is exactly where this property hits its stride—intimate at scale without feeling tight. From there, the day flows without interruption. Cocktail hour tucks naturally into the surrounding lawn and patio areas, and the transition into dinner doesn’t require a dramatic reset or relocation. It’s a layout that supports natural guest flow—people move because it makes sense, not because they’re being herded. Reception design leans into the venue’s materials: long wood tables, soft linens, woven textures, and garden-style florals that feel pulled from the setting rather than placed on top of it. You can keep it minimal and let the environment breathe, or layer in detail—it holds both. The result often lands in that “you can have a high-end look without breaking the bank” space —where design feels considered, not excessive. And then there’s the personality: a vintage trailer photo booth under the trees, signature drink stations, little pockets of activity that give guests something to do without pulling them away from the celebration. It’s a property that supports the full experience—not just the ceremony and dinner, but everything in between. See What's Included |

Wedding Day BlueprintYou pull into The Maples and immediately understand the assignment: this wedding gets to feel relaxed, colorful, personal, and just a little mischievous. The 55-acre Woodland property gives you the renovated 1930s ranch house, the huge trees, the open lawns, the fireplaces, and enough space for guests to roam without anyone whispering, “Where are we supposed to go now?” Good. We love a venue with manners. Getting ReadyThe morning starts inside the ranch house, where the suite brings the beauty-bar energy: mirrors, outlets, soft seating, private bathroom, wine fridge, and room for dresses, touch-ups, snacks, nerves, and the one person who is already crying. Across the way, the den keeps things cooler with a pool table, chess, bar, fridge, and space to get ready without turning into a pile of jackets and shoe boxes. CeremonyThe Homestead lawn is the big leafy moment. Chairs sit beneath the enormous trees, with the Chinese pistache tree acting as the natural backdrop. Keep the ceremony design low and garden-style: aisle florals, soft color, maybe a few meadowy arrangements at the base of the tree. The setting already has presence, so the florals get to flirt, not shout. Appetizers & CocktailsAfter vows, guests drift toward the Courtyard or Villa area for cocktails, umbrellas, lawn games, fireplace glow, and those little “this is so them” moments. This is also where The Maples’ dog-friendly policy becomes dangerously charming: pups with handlers, signature drinks nearby, and guests fully pretending they are not trying to get a photo with the dog first. Dinner ReceptionDinner on the lawn can go soft and classic, or lean into the colorful California energy from the real wedding feature: pale blue linens, pink napkins, citrus accents, bright garden florals, taper candles, and natural wood chairs. The trees keep everything grounded, so the color feels fresh instead of chaotic. Dancing & MerrimentAs the light drops, the Courtyard takes over. String lights, concrete underfoot, bar close by, music carrying across the property. The night ends at 10 p.m., so the move is simple: start the party early, protect the energy, and let the final song land while everyone is still very much in it. Source notes: The Maples confirms the 55-acre property, 1930s ranch house, Homestead lawn, Courtyard, Villa, Stables, included tables/chairs, games, getting-ready spaces, and 11 a.m.–10 p.m. timeframe. The Style Me Pretty feature was used for the colorful real-wedding direction, including the bright palette, whimsical styling, and pups. View the Gallery |
