Getting Ready

Start at the Villa, where arched windows, hand-painted tile, terracotta floors and dark wood turn the getting-ready photos into something decidedly more interesting than “everyone standing near a window.” The 17,000-square-foot Spanish Colonial building sits high on the property with mountain views on all sides, and its architectural details make even the walk down the hallway worthy of a photographer following behind.

Ceremony

Here’s where Hummingbird Nest gets wonderfully indecisive.

Want formal and architectural? Let the Villa’s white façade, arches and courtyards set the scene. Prefer California countryside? There are lawns, vineyards, rocky hillsides, mature trees and water views elsewhere across the estate. The venue currently offers several distinct event settings, including the Villa, Grand Prix, Lakeside Lawn, Vineyard and Garden Pavilion.

Whichever you choose, resist the urge to decorate every available inch. The architecture and landscape already have opinions.

Appetizers & Cocktails

This property was practically built for the glamorous exhale after the ceremony.

Move onto a terrace or courtyard, add chilled cocktails, umbrellas and a few strategically placed lounges, then let guests explore. Fountains trickle behind conversations, tiled arches frame little pockets of the party, and olive trees and mountain slopes keep peeking through the architecture.
